Hi, I'm Sarah
My name is Sarah (Fleming) Donsbach and I have lived in Fishers for a little over 7 years. I married my husband Mark Donsbach on July 4 because I’m a sucker for fireworks. Together Mark and I have an incredible blended family of my two girls (ages 11 and 9) and my step-children of two boys and one girl ( ages 14, 12 and 10). My children currently attend Purdue Polytechnic High School (Broad Ripple Campus), Riverside Junior High, Riverside Intermediate, and New Britton Elementary.
My decision to seek the Delaware Township seat on the Hamilton Southeastern School Board comes from the love I have for my children and my love of public service. I am a true public servant at heart and I have had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of Indiana’s best and truest public servants. My time working in the Daniels Administration taught me how to ask the hard questions regardless of their popularity, how to make data driven decisions, how to implement successful metrics to encourage hard work and accountability, that honesty and transparency in elected officials is crucial, and most importantly, how to listen, because all students’, teachers’ and families’ stories matter and no two stories or situations are exactly the same. I am also an alumni of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series (Class of 2008-2009).
I will represent Delaware Township with honesty, integrity, and transparency. I will work hard for our students, teachers and families to ask the questions they have and obtain the answers. I will listen to the stories of our community, walk alongside them, and work hard to make sure that every child in our community has every opportunity to get the award winning education that we as the City of Fishers are so proud to offer. I will work hard to ensure that Hamilton Southeastern Schools remains one of the top districts in our great state.
I'm no stranger to working hard for Hamilton Southeastern Schools as I have been active with the PTO of New Britton Elementary for four years. That time includes three years in executive positions on the PTO Board with the last two years as Co-President.
I was born and grew up in Carmel, Indiana as the third of 4 children, and attended Carmel Clay Schools K-12. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University in 2004. I worked for the State of Indiana for the Daniels Administration from 2005-2011. During those 7 years I worked in Legislative Affairs for the Family and Social Services Administration, Criminal Justice Institute, and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Since 2012 I have worked for a family owned law firm in downtown Indianapolis.
Those of you who know me know that most of my free time is spent on soccer, baseball and softball fields. My 11 year old daughter began competitive cheer this year, and my 9 year old daughter plays soccer for the Indiana Fire Juniors. Both of my step sons play travel baseball, one for the Fishers Falcons and the other for the Indiana Bulldogs. My stepdaughter plays travel softball for the Cats program. My husband finds his passion in coaching both baseball and softball.
I want to hear your stories. I want to hear your ideas. I will work hard for our students, our teachers, our families and our community.
